Agenda for RunJob Special Workshop on Thursday

The meeting is booked for 3 hours, but we will only use that if needed.

(1) RunJob Status, Greg, 10 minutes
    Discussion of where we are on the "February" plan.

(2) RunJob Discussion Slides, Greg and Dave, 20 minutes 
                              Discussion,    30 minutes
       Action items: 
          Rick and Wyatt should have enough understanding to carry
       them through the documentation standdown.  The RunJob project 
       should have a clearer idea of its scope with regard to SAMGrid.
       (See Rick's agenda items below) 

(3) Discussion of Dates and Milestones,  All, 30 minutes

       Action items: 
          If there is enough here to commit, then we need to discuss
       specific milestones and a reasonable timeframe given assigned
       manpower.  Or the discussion could be deferred ;-)

Dear Greg, Peter, Iain, Gabriele and Igor

 Wyatt and I spoke about the RunJob workshop we had planned for this 
Thursday.  The original motivation for the workshop was that we felt that 
there were developments in RunJob and in JIM that involved standards and 
interfaces that we were not clear were on a convergent path.

 In the time since the original idea of the workshop, two things have 
developed:

1. Ruth assigned Greg, Wyatt and I "homework" to describe our 
  architecture and use.

2. The SAMGrid project will have a documenation standown next week.


Therefore, we feel  that the "homework" that she and Greg had done 
would form the best basis for the understanding of the interface and that 
this should be carried through to the documentation standown.


Wyatt had sent around mail with a number of working groups for the 
documentation standdown and with appointed convenors of each.  Some of the 
groups are larger and the convenors are defininging further breakdowns. 
These meetings to discuss the breakdowns have already occurred and further 
refinement of the documents and tasks have been received (although not yet 
rebroadcasted).

Therefore I think we should continue the original plan to have a work shop 
on Thursday with the following mods

1. We should try Thurs morning, I suggest 9am
2. We should keep to to 1 hour
3. We should focus it around a discussion of the documents that Greg and 
Wyatt produced (I will send pointers to them when I get them).
4. We should define the plan of work after seeing the docs and discussing 
them on Thursday.
5. We should follow up with this next week in subgroup meetings.


The workshop next week is organized around the subgroups, each of which 
has a convenor, and these subgroups may break up into smaller groups as 
well. I think that RunJob fits under applications -- Gabriele is in that 
group, but group membership can be modified of course!  It is up to 
subgroup leaders to decide when to meet.  ON friday there will be a 
plenary where we see how far we have gotten and decide on next steps.

Please let me know your availability on Friday at 9am -- and let the time 
negotiations begin!
