Present: Dave, Anzar, Jerry, Eric, Greg

(1) Release status 
      -Release 2.3 is cut, and we did not send the mail out yet.  
                 -Tested in MCPS and MCRunjob and it is fine.  
                 -Waiting on Anzar.

      -Wait a few days, and get rid of legacy code and work towards Shahkar 3.0.

      -pylint changes: 
             -logger needs an intermediate version.  Everything uses the logger.
                   -use "new method calls old method" method
                   -cut intermediate release by end of the week.
             -scriptObject package, same boat
                   -pylint changes due for end of week
                   -prototype attribute type class.
             -XMLP, MB not as serious; uses more confined.
             -Shahkar, and ShREEK done already.

       -Work for a 2.4 release by Friday with all pylint changes.
       -Next week, we rip all old interfaces and move to Shahkar 3.0.

      -When doing a release, list of changes would be helpful.

(2) Python 2.3 is out.    Push again for Python 2.3 in production group.
       -Test harness written by Eric works only in Python 2.3 (because test 
        harness code is depnt on it.) 

(3) Macro language versus Python interface
       -We are in favor of making the change, list of benefits is long.
           -maintenance savings
           -import pdb, profile, etc.
           -write function to translate macros.
           -release cycle
     -It is in the Linker now to chack "NoMacro" option
     -ShahkarPythonInterface   (Spy or SPI)   Spy vs. Spy
     -Use staticmethod to segregate into namespaces.

(4) AOB
    -General documentation package for MCPS.  Send around an example.
